Your child could be a pilot!

Since the dawn of civilization, humanity has looked skyward and dreamed of flight. For most of history, that dream belonged to the few. Today, it can belong to your child.

Florida First Flight Academy was built to make aviation accessible to the next generation — structured training, parent-involved learning, and a clear path from first lesson to FAA certificate. The sky isn't the limit. It's the beginning.

Making Florida’s Children First in Flight

Flight training is expensive — but that's where we come in. Florida First Flight Academy works with the administrators of the Florida Empowerment Scholarship (PEP) program to make the dream of flight a reality for homeschool families across the state. PEP is an education savings account scholarship that covers flight training as a vocational and career education expense for eligible students. Eligible families use their PEP funds to pay for flight lessons directly through our school — no out-of-pocket payment required for covered services. We handle the billing through the Step Up For Students EMA portal so you can focus on what matters: watching your student take to the skies.

Training Locations

We offer flight training at Herlong (HEG) and Craig Executive (CRG) so we have you covered from the beaches to Stark! Rates may vary by location, please see the rates page above to learn more.

Make flying a career!

Students must be at least 17 years old to take the Private Pilot Practical Test but there is no age limit to receive instruction. That means your child can begin flight training, prepare for the practical exam, and take the exam as early as their 17th birthday! With the required ratings, Commercial Pilots can be compensated for instruction or other work as early as 18 years old.
